“ This was a fabulous dining experience. The staff were friendly, and our server, Alex, was welcoming and had a fun sense of humour while being very knowlegible about both the wines and food. The restaurant is comprised of outdoor and indoor seating, with a number of cosy, small inside rooms, with upbeat jazz music playing unobtrusively in the background. I was particularly struck by the attention to detail on the tables and the presentation of the food. We started with the roasted scallops in their shells and a shellfish bisque. However, the standout starter was the blue fin tuna tartare. This had a coating of spiced avocado with a ponzu sauce, which had a fabulous citrus flavour and a hint of ginger. The plateau de fruits de mer was huge and more than enough for one person and I have a healthy appetite. The dressed crab was delightful and , he whelks were plump and juicy. A bottle of Reisling with its subtle flavours was the perfect accompliment. We also had a sticky prawn starter as a main, which had a really nice bite courtesy of the jalapeno, lime, and garlic. We finished the meal with an ice cream and a great selection of cheeses. I can highly recommend J Sheekey to anyone looking for a great seafood experience. We shall definitely return to try out some of the other dishes on the menu. ”
“ This place was awesome. The chili jalapeno prawns were yummy. Also the cheese souffle was the dish of the night ! The picture doesnt do it justice delicate with an amazing cheese sauce Loved the fish and chips specifically the mushy peas were better than most places. The fish pie is creamy and comforting The basque cheesecake with cherry was perfect ! ”
“ Wow, what can I say, an incredible all round meal. I cant remember the last time I had a meal where all three courses were as good as the ones I had at J. Sheekey. The staff were incredibly attentive and even brought out a Happy birthday dessert for my partner which he loved. For starters we had the dressed Portland crab and the cheddar souffle, the souffle was so light and fluffy with just the right amount of cheese. I then ordered the monkfish and tiger prawn masala, and wow, it was great. The monkfish itself was so soft and the prawns really let out a chargrill flavour. My partner ordered the ray wing which he thoroughly enjoyed. Finally, the desserts, my partner ordered the honeycomb ice cream with hot chocolate sauce and he wont stop talking about it! Something so simple, but so great, a generous portion too. I had the raspberry and pistachio cake which was so light, and fluffy, and the sharpness of the raspberries really complimented the pistachio cake. Overall, an incredible meal, with great staff in a great location. Ill be coming back. ”
“ Our lunch here was exquisite. A place to go if youre feeling a bit flush and want a real treat. The variety of choices on the menu meant we took a while to decide! We sat at the bar, the atmosphere seemed slightly livelier elsewhere hence not 5 stars here. Would definitely recommend. Great location, too. ”
“ Great atmosphere, solid food, great service from the staff. Lots of famous people in the restaurant and very warm feeling overall. Food was good especially the lobster thermidor! Will return ”
“ A classy seafood restaurant with wide range of fresh seafood platters. They also offer other options such as burgers and many wine choices to pair with the seafood. The ambiance is warm and cosy, with friendly service. The price was around 50person, which is expected for the type of cuisine offered. ”
“ Legendary place on Londons culinary scene. Still up to its hype and glory. We were very pleased with everything. The service was attentive, friendly and non obstructive. The food was tasty, well prepared, cooked and came with great timing. The ambient was like in traditional, classic old fashioned restaurant in the 60ties. The crowd was full of eccentric, interesting individuals lots of them dressed in very flamboyant manner. All in all its a place to be, to see, to be seen, to hang out and enjoy lively Central London in all its glory. Definitely a place for many regular visits, holding history and many fantastic memories. One of very few in London still being its own league. Well done J Sheekey!!! ”
“ Incredibly mouthwatering and tasty food which is good because the prices can get steep ! Wonderful seafood and a very famous location. Lovely photos of famous theatre actors tress who have eaten there. ”
